Take advantage of your vacation in the Jura to discover the village of Sellières !

The apple city
Every year in October, the Apple Festival is held in Sellières. For two days, the whole village is bustling with activity, and you can sample a range of products derived from this fruit (apples, apple juice, jams, cider vinegar, etc.).
A church without a steeple...
... and a steeple without a church - that's what makes Sellières so special!
The bell tower of the former parish church sits at the heart of the village. From here, staircases invite you to climb to the heights to admire the roofs of this ancient fortified town. Pass under the narrow Porte d'Amont gateway, then through the covered market before crossing the Brenne river, to reach the church of Saint-Pierre... without a steeple.
Gustave Vieille built this neo-Gothic church between 1866 and 1870. It replaced the former church of the Cordeliers convent, which had become a parish church in the early 19th century.

Hotel Doroz
This mansion probably dates from the 16th century, based on an earlier construction. Turrets, one on the façade and the other on the east side of the building, house two spiral staircases. Two others, on the west side, have firing openings facing the Bourg-Dessous. The building was altered in the 18th century.

The Saltworks Museum
The charm of the village square in Sellières lies in this unusual little museum, featuring over 4,000 salt shakers. Ranked in the top 20 of the world's most unusual museums, it tells the story of each of these objects, with their varied shapes and colors. The museum is free and open to all, so don't miss out!
19th-century grain market
Originally made of wood, the grain market, which housed Sellières' important grain market, was rebuilt in cut stone in 1856, to plans by Vittot, an architect from Lons le Saunier.
Today, you can push open the doors of the Sellières media library, housed under the arcades of this former market hall.
