Classified as a "Plus Beau Village de France" and a "Cité de Caractère de Bourgogne Franche-Comté", the Jura village of Château-Chalon welcomes over 100,000 visitors every year. Housed in a historic residence - Le Froid Pignon, the abbey's former hostellerie where distinguished guests were received - the Maison de la Haute Seille offers visitors the chance to discover the local heritage through exhibitions, a tasting area, events, an artistic program and the reconstruction of a 1928 classroom. On-site, you'll have access to tourist documentation, maps of the Jura, and information on leisure activities in the region... The Maison de la Haute Seille also has partnerships with local producers and craftsmen to offer you original, quality products (delicatessen, jewelry, postcards...), a panoramic terrace and an indoor area where you can taste the famous Vin Jaune, Vin de Paille and Macvin, or indulge in a Jura lemonade, ice cream or coffee.
